Race for Life ::: Vinoth Chandar ::: I was with at the Little Flower convent in Chennai last year for their sports day. This school is for the Hearing and Visually Impaired. Those children were unable to see through their eyes or hear through their ears but the did everything through their heart :) It was so inspiring to see these children participate in all the sports activities which the normal children would do. They had the willingness to compete, the enthusiasm, the happiness and everything more than the normal children.They were definitely one step ahead I pray god to give them a great lifeThis is NOT an effect done in Photoshop. I used the zoom burst technique to capture the sense of speed.

I returned late last year and gave this priest a copy of this image. He did not know what to make of it as he is the subject of thousands of photos a year, so it came as a huge surprise when he was given this image, he was left totally speechless

Jewels of the Kalahari ::: Jacqueline Deely ::: While volunteering in Botswana last year with a cheetah conservation organization, I took a San Bushman walking tour near the town of Ghanzi.The Hunter-Gatherer life of the San Bushman has all but disappeared. There are few remaining Bushmen who still retain the survival skills of their ancient way of life. This tour gave us a fascinating glimpse of how the San adapted to the Kalahari Desert. The two women in the image caught my attention as the golden evening light lit up their smiling faces. It is a reminder of the warmth and beauty of these amazing people, but also sadly of a fast disappearing unique and ancient culture.
