Born in Luanda Angola, Luis has since early age found his inspiration from his father when he bought his first camera, and from his mother teaching him about sensing, the soul and life vibrations.
He began photography at age 16, graduated in 1981, from University of Coimbra in Portugal. He settled in Leiria-Portugal.
Since then, he participated in many exhibitions, collective projects, catalogues, and magazines in Portugal and France.
Many times sitting in the jury of National Photography challenges, Luis also showcases his work websites around the world, including:
In 2009, he was invited by the local Council to have his first individual exhibition, ‘Viagem a um Pequeno Mundo’, (Trip to the Little World) which toured in several others cities around the country.
In 2010 and 2012 he received an award from the French magazine PHOTO.
In 2014 he launched his first photography book “Corpo, Luz e Alma” (Body, Light and Soul) in Lisbon. The book was presented in Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, in Lisbon and Teatro José Lúcio da Silva in Leiria.
In 2015 he is invited by the Council of Reguengos de Monsaraz to exhibit at the Art Gallery, Church of Santiago in Monsaraz, closing the cycle of exhibitions Monsaraz Open Museum this year. Then it displays 60 images of India under the title "India, cinnamon face" at 7 November 2015. Exhibition open until 10 January 2016. This exhibition was repeated in Leiria, in the Theatre José Lúcio da Silva, from March 3 to April 3, 2016.

... as long as there's an advanced Maths course in a (not necessarily) nearby country. He's known for pushing friends into the most expensive photographic equipment... several family inheritances have been wasted, but they often acknowledge his smart advices. Owner of a clinical eye, he can spot perfection amidst chaos as easily as a small imperfection on a perfect photo. He's also an occasional stork stalker and, above all, a caring father of two beautiful children. Gastão's current location: Covilhã, Portugal.
... give us a hand. He's our Computer Science genius and is currently addicted to photographing cats. He's a natural born optimist who makes a joke out of anything... don't mess with his Toyota though. Eventually, his stocks will rise from death and he'll invest in livestock and vineyards. He's got highly trained fingers either playing the piano or shortcutting photoshop. We hope he'll stick around after marrying his college sweetheart. In the mean time, he'll dissect every submitted photograph into binary code. Pedro's current location: Covilhã, Portugal.
... would only be true if reading travel, geographic and surfing books/magazines accounted some mileage. He checks his e-mail every 2 minutes and he's often seen going cold-turkey when offline. Still divided between several walks of life, he strongly believes in Murphy's law "If anything can go wrong, it will". Photography plays a huge role in his life, at least judging by his conversation topics. Gray hair will eventually take the better of him. Pedro's current location: Covilhã, Portugal.
