Relic

An icon for the Santa Cruz, Ca. area, the S.S. Palo Alto is a cement ship built in 1918 for World War 1. It was towed in 1929 to Seacliff State Beach in Aptos, and became a casino and dance hall party boat. Today it stands in pieces and is not accessible to people except to the end of the pier where I shot this image through a gate. As usual I was the last one on the pier to photograph this popular landmark for the Santa Cruz area. I would of taken some more long exposures but eventually the park ranger had to kick me off the pier and close the gates.
