Silence Pact

I run into these kids in Lake Namtso, in Tibet. They were siblings. She was four and he was around two. We played for an hour and they kept repeating everything I did or said. So here they are imitating me... when I develop this photo I was surprised with the look on their faces, it meant so much.. Tibet is still conquered by China and there's not much we can do about it... it's a silence pact between them and us.

Mercedes Noriega

Mercedes Noriega is a 30 year old Buenos Aires based TV and Film producer. Having studied filmmaking at the Universidad del Cine with a degree in Direction in Photography, Mercedes moved into an active participation in diverse roles from early in her career. Mercedes transitioned onto the world of commercial television in 2006 where she rapidly grew to become head of production of Managementv – a Latin-American channel based in Buenos Aires. She has produced all of the channel’s productions ranging from talkshows (Lideres), documentaries (Inside the Company) and news magazines (Focus) as well as being in charge of TV coverage of live events across the world (New York, Sao Pablo, Mexico). In the last year Mercedes has progressed into independent production where she is producing corporate pieces for diverse clients. Mercedes’ passion is photography, activity which she also develops at a professional level; having travelled the world taking pictures of different cultures, landscapes and societies. Her accomplishment in this field includes exhibitions in Argentina and sale of her photos.

Photoburst is a photo of the day contest focusing on Travel Photography.

Everyday (from the 1st until the 28th), among all images uploaded by our contributors, we publish a photo of the day (POTD).
Every week (on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th), among all POTDs of the preceding week, we select a photo of the week (POTW).
On the 30th we select the best POTW as photo of the month (POTM).

The author of the POTM receives:
a US$50 gift certificate to Kiva + (in even-numbered months only) an invitation to be Photoburst's guest editor in the following month!
