The Festival of Saint Agatha is the most important religious festival of Catania, Sicily. It commemorates the life of what is the city's patron saint, Agatha of Sicily. It takes place annually from 3 to 5 February and on 17 August. Devotees carry those bulky candles “per grazia ricevuta,” which means that a Saint has granted them a miracle they have been asking for.
Usually, it is up to the devotee to decide how heavy the candle should be and for how long they will carry it. According to Catania wax dealers, the most requested candle is the one that weighs approximately 85 pounds.
I'm a freelance photographer and Graphic designer based in Italy.
It's difficult for me to express my interpretation of the world in words, so I make photographs ...the better way to speak!
I hope you see my photography in the same way I do, with the eye of the heart.
I was born in Italy in '61, I consider myself just an amateur but photography is part of who i am, and it is something that i wish to persue for the rest of my life.
Photography and traveling are my two passions, and I think that this two things go great together! ...bring my camera always with me. Connect with Tony Leone on:

Since 2008 we have been blessed to feature the work of both professional and keen travellers, whose talent and vision are Photoburst's core of the matter. We suggest visiting the Archive and Hall of Fame sections before submitting your work, for a glimpse at what we are looking for.
We are currently accepting guest editorship proposals, as we strongly believe they are a great way of further involving photographers with Photoburst and our audience (please check the Editors section). Interested? Email us at email@example.com.

... as long as there's an advanced Maths course in a (not necessarily) nearby country. He's known for pushing friends into the most expensive photographic equipment... several family inheritances have been wasted, but they often acknowledge his smart advices. Owner of a clinical eye, he can spot perfection amidst chaos as easily as a small imperfection on a perfect photo. He's also an occasional stork stalker and, above all, a caring father of two beautiful children. Gastão's current location: Covilhã, Portugal.
... give us a hand. He's our Computer Science genius and is currently addicted to photographing cats. He's a natural born optimist who makes a joke out of anything... don't mess with his Toyota though. Eventually, his stocks will rise from death and he'll invest in livestock and vineyards. He's got highly trained fingers either playing the piano or shortcutting photoshop. We hope he'll stick around after marrying his college sweetheart. In the mean time, he'll dissect every submitted photograph into binary code. Pedro's current location: Covilhã, Portugal.
... would only be true if reading travel, geographic and surfing books/magazines accounted some mileage. He checks his e-mail every 2 minutes and he's often seen going cold-turkey when offline. Still divided between several walks of life, he strongly believes in Murphy's law "If anything can go wrong, it will". Photography plays a huge role in his life, at least judging by his conversation topics. Gray hair will eventually take the better of him. Pedro's current location: Covilhã, Portugal.
